Questions About Epson 9600 Photo-Quality Prints
What is an Epson 9600 print?
The Epson 9600 is a high-quality inkjet printer that
makes truly beautiful photographic prints. The 9600 creates a photograph
by laying microscopic dots of ink on paper. The end
result is a very sharp and defined print.
Perfect for short run or single run posters or displays
Rather it is a family picture to hang above the mantel, or a large display for your next tradeshow. The Epson 9600 is the perfect tool.
What type of paper can the Epson print on?
The Epson 9600 can print on a wide variety of papers, such as Gloss, Semi- Gloss, High Gloss, Matte, Canvas, backlite film, clear film, stickyback, etc. Ask for certain types and we will see if it is possable.
What
ink set are you using in your 9600?
We are using the Epson Ultrachrome inkset with the Photo Black ink.
How
do Epson 9600 prints compare to prints made through moretraditional
methods, like Ilfochrome?
Ilfochrome is a beautiful analog process, but notoriously difficult.
Even at its best, Ilfochrome printing does not allow you the control
you have with Photoshop. Every time we've been asked to "match"
a existing Ilfochrome print, we've gone beyond a match, and brought
out aspects of the image the client never thought possible. If you
are still using Ilfochrome, you should see what our process can
do for your photographs--otherwise, you'll never know what you are
missing! Quantitatively, digital prints will be sharper, which allows
you to make larger prints; the color is cleaner; and the contrast
problems so common in Ilfochrome prints are removed by the scanner.
How
well does the 9600 print B&W?
Quite well. The fact that the 9600 uses color inks means
that it does a great job of printing images with a tint (such as
a sepia tone). It also prints beautifully onto Epson Premium Luster
Photo Paper and Epson Premium SemiMatte Photo Paper. It has a different
feel than the Piezography® prints, but it has its own unique
and beautiful characteristics.

long do Epson 9600 prints last?
